I learned to navigate through worries and fears as a child by focusing on curiosity, creativity, and play. My desire to achieve the goals I set for myself moved me to the other side of fear. I did get into some mischief growing up ... and I also learned about inner strength and courage!
I received a B.S. degree in Therapeutic Recreation in 1978, and a M.S. degree in Natural Health in 2005. I began my clinical career as a registered recreation therapist and moved into patient relations, wellness education, and was the director of patient experience until my hospital retirement in 2017.
I am a certified hypnotherapist, receiving my diploma in clinical hypnotherapy with high honors from the nationally accredited HMI, College of Hypnotherapy in 2015.
My personal and professional experience ignited my desire to empower children with self-care tools. And what better way to reach young learners than through a playful children's picture book? This inspired me to write Brady and the Backyard Monster! It's been a long journey but well worth it with amazing results, thanks to the talented folks at BiblioKid Publishing and the beautiful illustrations by Olena Kharkovenko.
I live with my very supportive husband, Sabatino, and my very active Labrador retriever, Brady. I have two adult sons, Taylor and Trevor, who always support me with each new challenge I seek to tackle. I enjoy digging in the dirt alongside my retriever, swimming, photography, wildlife, reading, hiking, pickleball, and spending time with friends and family. I still get into mischief from time to time:-)
I'd love to hear from you, please send me a message and let me know what you think of Brady and the Backyard Monster.
Thank you for stopping by!
Wishing you & yours all the best,
